Eligibility
As a provider of comprehensive mental health services, our continuum of care extends to all ages, with a multitude of services including outpatient, home-based, school, and community-based programs. BCCMHA follows a recovery model which emphasizes and supports each individual's potential for mental wellness, empowerment, and social inclusion. Services are provided in a person-centered, family-driven and youth-guided manner. Individuals, families and youth have an empowered, decision-making role in how their care is delivered.
Medical Necessity
Services begin with an assessment to determine the appropriate amount, scope, and duration of services for every individual. Medicaid recipients are guaranteed access to medically necessary services. For those without insurance or with private insurance, appropriate service options are discussed on an individual basis.
Advanced Directives
At BCCMHA, we encourage individuals to establish an Advanced Directive if they feel it’s necessary before starting services. This important document ensures that treatment preferences are followed, even if someone becomes unable to communicate them.
By planning ahead, individuals can guide their treatment and help loved ones and healthcare providers respect their wishes. We believe everyone should have the right to make informed choices about their care, and an Advanced Directive is a proactive way to protect that right.
Payment for Services & Non-Discrimination
BCCMHA does not discriminate in the provision of health care services to an individual:
• Because the individual is unable to pay for health care services;
• Because payment for those services would be made under Medicare, Medicaid, or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP); or
• Based upon the individual's race, color, sex, age, national origin, disability, religion, gender identity or sexual orientation.
BCCMHA will help each person to determine their needs and conclude whether their treatment will be covered. No individual will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; and there is a discount/sliding fee schedule available based on family size and income.
BCCMHA adheres to the Federal No Surprises Act, a part of transparency in health care. To learn more about this Act and to get details, please visit Michigan.gov.
